Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce at At Home with Books. To participate, post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don’t post random photos that you find online.

I was going through some old pictures this week and found a couple of old photos I wanted to share. These are from a birthday trip I took to Paris in 2005.

If you look very closely, you can see two firemen in red suits, dangling from a line. They were using the base of the Eiffel Tower for rescue training – perfect spot! (You can see them better in the larger photo – just click.)

A view of the Eiffel Tower from the other side of town, on the stairs of Montmartre:

Love the shot of the Eiffel Tower through the haze. I want a birthday trip to Paris!!

    *sigh* Paris. Fantastic as usual.

I figured that if I *had* to turn 40, I would do it in Paris at a lovely cafe with champagne and a handsome waiter. As birthdays go, it’s a great way to celebrate!

Love the long shot of the Eiffel Tower! So neat! Gives the viewer a real sense of ‘the space’ that Paris takes up ….

What a great catch of the Eiffel Tower and the dangling Fire Men! I also love the one with the view from Montmarte. Picture postcard ready I would say.

If I never get to Paris, France, I can still say that I’ve seen wonderful photos of the city. Thanks for sharing.

I’m very excited to see your birthday trip shots, as I’m taking a birthday trip to Paris this year- I’m so excited, and thinking about it every day, even though it’s still a few months away.

    Love that last shot!
