From The Boston Bibliophile: do you have friends in real life that you met through LibraryThing? Have you attended any LT meet-ups in your area? Would you be open to attending meet-ups or is LT strictly an online thing for you?

I have made some of my very best friends in the world on-line. I was maid of honor in the wedding of a woman I met at a F2F meeting for an online forum. I traveled to Alaska to visit friends I met on another forum. Last year, while in St Paul on business, I went to a lovely little St Patrick’s Day party, hosted by a friend from yet another forum. I have turned some of those folks on to LibraryThing, but I have yet to meet up with anyone that I have met only through LT. Obviously, I am open to the idea! (Another LTer and I missed out on meeting up in Amsterdam this summer by just a couple of days.) I think online forums are a great way to meet people and since I travel a lot on business, I look forward to meeting up with some fellow booklovers on my travels.
