Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce at At Home with Books. To participate, post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please donβt post random photos that you find online.
I was going through some of my photos, looking for something I might post, and one picture made me think of another and another and so I give you: Street Performers. (Be sure to click on the pictures to see them full size.)
An interesting job, painting yourself and standing very still. But apparently it keeps people coming back.
Wanna know which guy isn’t stone? Click here for a close-up.
Ha! That’s a pretty cool set of pictures. Darned if I know.
That’s great, specially the last one. I suspected I knew who the live one was, but I wasn’t sure, so I had to check a photo of the original on Flickr. I was right! Don’t cheat folks, check after you’ve guessed π
We’ve seen these type of performers all over the world too and they’re always fun to see.
Oh I love these pics – and that last one is so awesome, I think street performers are cool. I wish I had more opportunities where I live to see them.
Thanks for posting that link, Eva! If you check out the close-up I linked to, you can see the performer does a terrifically detailed job. He scared the heck out of a couple of people in our group.
Fabulous photos! Don’t you love finding these treasures in your own set of photos? Thanks for sharing.

Not sure I’d be up for this job but I love looking at them!
Hi!
Great snapshots! We don’t have any street performers here. These people are awesome.
I guessed right on the real person. And I didn’t cheat either! Have a great day!

Love street performers, even if they freak me out a bit when they don’t move!
Wow! I totally picked the wrong one. Thanks for sharing.
How very cool. We saw a fellow in the NYC subway made up all in silver like the baseball player–he was being the Tin Man.
I was guessing the man on the far right. Totally missed that.

I guessed right! π We rode on a bus in Honolulu with a gold-painted man “on his way to work.” He wasn’t in his role yet; just riding the bus like anyone else. But we had seen him before completely still down by Waikiki.
Great photos, some interesting costumes! I picked the right guy in the last photo, too! I was going for the guy on the right, by himself but then I looked at the photo closely and very carefully and chose the guy standing up against the wall…that’s a tough one though, he really looks like the other statues!
Lisa that is a very cool set of photos.
Very cool! I couldn’t stand still for more than a few minutes, if that!
Here’s Mine
These are fabulous! Occasionally I see street performers in Chicago and I’m always amazed that they can stay ‘in character’ for so long.
Thanks for posting these wonderful photos!
Here is my Saturday Snapshot post!
That was neat! I loved the last one.
Very cool! Thanks for sharing.
