Saturday Snapshot

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce at At Home with Books. To participate, post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don’t post random photos that you find online.

Today, I’ve got some more photos from my trip to Sheffield and my side trip to London. Once again, you’re not likely to see a lot of typical photos, but I found so many interesting things to see! These are a few of my favorites…

Oh, London I miss you so! Those are great shots! The bottom is around the corner behind King’s Cross station? You got some beautiful shots!

Fun! I lived there as a little girl but I’ve wanted to go back and see it all with grown-up eyes.

Eugenia, you’re exactly right. The cab was parked in front of The Gymnasium.

You’ll find this funny, but as someone who doesn’t know London, I had to buy tickets into town to meet friends. I ordered tickets from Sheffield to King’s Cross, but the actual tickets said St. Pancras Station. I was really concerned that I was missing a ticket or had ordered incorrectly, until someone explained that the two stations are right across the street from each other.

I love atypical photos! Anyone can Google a picture of Big Ben–it’s the funny little quirky things that I like to take pictures of too. You got great shots!

That first shot is my favorite. Something about the juxtaposition of coming out of a tube station and seeing those old buildings. Isn’t London fabulous? I want to go back someday.

Here’s my Saturday Snapshot for this week.

Those each had so much detail! I think my favorite is the St. Pancras Station with the stairs and the towering building, but then I looked closer at that last one and saw the archway next to that car and it’s intriguing – it makes me want to zoom in on just that part.

A nice place to walk-clean, sturdy and pleasant to the eyes.Your photos show the depth of field that I’m always trying to learn.

I love seeing different pictures of familiar places. I always try to get different pictures when I do things, but I don’t often succeed.

Great shots, one day I’ll get to London too and take some quirky shots of my own.

What I miss most about not living in the UK now are the older buildings and the mixture of architecture. The town I live in here is less than 60 years old!
