Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce at At Home with Books. To participate, post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please donβt post random photos that you find online.
Today I went shopping with a friend of mine to one of my favorite foodie destinations, West Point Market. You can find fabulous foodstuffs here that you can’t find anywhere else. (I have a brand new pint of Thai Coconut Curry Ice Cream to prove it!) There are so many fabulous things that I couldn’t resist taking a few pictures:
Who knew there were so many varieties of salt! All sorts of colors, sizes of crystals, places of origin…be sure to click on the link to see the varieties in more detail.
And then, there’s the wine. The ports below range from $50 a bottle to $180 a bottle…and I bet that 40-year-old is smoooooth.
What I love about the wine shop at WPM is that they can sell you a $180 bottle of port, or they can recommend something for a more modest budget:
I came home with so many delicious things! There will be some high-quality snacking at my house later today (I’m looking at you, porcini risotto balls!)
What a fun virtual trip to the market. Love all the colors and textures!
That looks like such a fun place to shop, and wow – what a variety of salts!
Oooh…this looks like a wonderful place to shop! I love good foods and cooking.
Happy New Year!

Bear With Me….am currently reading ‘Salt: A World History’ by Mark Kurlansky, and salt is an amazing subject how it has influenced all world economies over the centuries?? Hopefully I’ll finish it on New Year’s Day!!! Keep safe in 2013?
Thank you for this-this is so my type of store. I could spend hours here.
That’s all salt?! Incredible! I love stores that offer unique choices. I’m usually too cheap to buy them π but I love to look anyway! Happy New Year!
