This week, I am whizzing through An Extraordinary Theory of Objects: A Memoir of an Outsider in Paris by Stephanie la Cava. It’s the memoir of an odd teenage girl, uprooted from New York to Paris, her depression and her fascination with (and collection of) strange objects. Here, she’s trying to round up her younger brother:

“‘What?’ he said, poking his head out of the bathroom where he was wearing swimming goggles while sailing miniature ships in the bidet. I laughed.”

Sounds like little brothers everywhere…
