This week, my Teaser is from Suspect by Robert Crais. I’m a big Robert Crais fan and although this isn’t one of his Elvis Cole novels, I thought I would give it a try.

“He wondered if she understood she had been shot, or if the impact and pain had been a sourceless surprise beyond her understanding. Did she know a man had sent a bullet into her? Did she know he was trying to kill her?”

In the case, the “she” in question is a German Shepherd named Maggie, who was shot by a sniper in Afghanistan.
