This has been a bizarre weather week in Ohio. We’ve had it all — blowing snow, pouring rain, thunder and sunshine. Today, we’re back to winter and as I was carrying some things in from the car, I decided to capture a little scene in my backyard.

This shed was pretty dilapidated when I moved in, but it has almost completely collapsed in the last year. I love photos of abandoned buildings. I just wish this one wasn’t in my backyard. I’m really hoping to talk the landlord into pulling it down this spring.

You know, this picture could almost be the cover on a spooky book. It makes you want to know what the shed was used for and what might be under the debris. LOL

Yeah, we’ve had some pretty weird weather here in Ontario too. Old abandoned buildings are so cool, aren’t they? I always wonder about their history.

It’s kinda sad how dilapidated buildings collapse inward once the roof comes down. I bet some local artisans would love to haul off that old weathered wood.

This would be so cool if it were repaired!

I wonder if it had a cupola at one point, or if that’s just the geometry of its demise … artsy!

I love photos of abandoned buildings too, but can understand you not wanting one in your yard!

No cupola, Dawn, just a little wooden shed. The previous tenant dumped a bunch of old carpet and broken yard toys in it, and when her kids got older, they hid out there to sneak cigarettes.

I agree that you could use it for a story — maybe there’s a skeleton in the debris, or a portal buried under the wreckage.

I love it! The bare branches add some eeriness to the photo. I wouldn’t want it in my backyard either.

You’re right, there is something appealing about a building that stands hollow and alone. Here’s Mine

It’s a lovely photo, even if you don’t like it in your backyard.

Oh my, it looks like it’s ready to be wood for the fireplace.

It shouldn’t take much to knock it down you’d think. Interesting photo though.

Yeah, I’d want him to tear it down too.

The weather has been weird and today (Wednesday) it’s gorgeous and warm again, at least in my part of Ohio.
