Saturday Snapshot!

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce at At Home with Books. To participate, post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don’t post random photos that you find online.

We’ve got snow outside — just in time for my flight tomorrow — but I don’t want to think about bad weather right now. Instead, I’ve got more great street art for you, from a work trip I took to Los Angeles last year. (I really need to get out, when the weather is good, and take some pics of the street art and murals and cool graffiti right here in my town.) I loved this mural because it’s so colorful and funny. The fact that it was a beautiful sunny day, while I am looking out my window at a winter wonderland, doesn’t hurt a bit.

Lisa, That’s great. When I see “street art” it is usually just dirty words or tags. Here’s Mine

    Hi Lisa,

I love street art which is artistic and thoughtfully done, as in your example. I can’t see why it tends to rufle so many people’s feathers, it’s great art and it’s free to view!

Of course, here in the UK we have ‘Banksie’ as a benchmark for what’s good in street art, so others have plenty to live up to.

Your picture is so bright and colourful, that it can’t fail to cheer me up on this cold winter’s day. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Street art is so lovely and amazing. I always wonder how they can get the right proportions on such a big canvas.

That is such an unusual mural!

So much better than just looking at a concrete building.

What a lively mural! Love it! And I like the man standing there, too. Great composition!

This is the kind of street art I like! Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.

That street art is amazing. Whoever painted it has a future as a graphic designer.

What fun, I really must pay more attention to this type of art. I always love a piece that’s done in our downtown area but neglect to take my camera.

I can’t imagine how much time it takes for an artist to accomplish such a thing. This one is so clear and precise, and I bet it went on further than what we can see here….. seems like the building in the foreground is maybe blocking the fuller view.
It’s so inventive. For instance, what is that second thing from the left…. a garlic press?

That is so colorful. You can’t help but smile when you look at it.

I love murals like that too. Nice shot.
