Teaser Tuesday: Rubber Balls and Liquor

Hey folks! I am back from a week’s vacation — very relaxing — and starting off the official summer season with a Teaser!

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. You know the rules:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week, I’m reading Rubber Balls and Liquor by Gilbert Gottfried. Funny stuff, but the challenge was finding a passage I could quote out here where the kids might be reading. Come back on Thursday for my review — and I’ll be giving away a signed copy!  Once I filtered out all the foul language and the dick jokes, I was left with:

“I was like the Beatles at Shea Stadium, only you could actually hear what I was saying and I didn’t get laid afterward. All I got was seven dollars, which seemed to me like all the money in the world.”

Which is actually pretty representative of the book. There’s a lot about Gottfried not getting paid or getting laid – and it’s all pretty darn funny. Be sure to check back later this week to win a signed copy of Rubber Balls and Liquor!

What’s teasing YOU this week?
