Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. You know the rules: grab your current read, open to a random page and share a two sentence teaser with us (no spoilers!). Be sure to tell us about the book, so we can add it to our TBR list!
Today, my Teaser is from Sacre by Christopher Moore. I am absolutely loving this — he has a way of sneaking funny stuff in so that you have read three more sentences before you notice that you’re laughing. This one is going to be great fun. In this passage, Lucien is talking about his great love, Minette, and he sneaks in a bit about his mother, too:
“She inspired a love in Lucien so profound that it made him nearly breathless with the need to pull her hair and profess her cooties to the world. Lucien was relatively sure that he would one day have to take her as his wife, if only she could be taught to be as spiteful as his mother, so that she could properly ruin his life.”
That boy has some odd ideas about marriage!
What’s teasing YOU this week?
