Giveaway Time!

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Because of my crazy travel schedule, it’s been a while since I’ve had a giveaway. After all, if I’m not home to mail it out, what’s the point? So, to get caught up, I have 3 books to give away. These are 3 very different books, so there should be something for everyone!

#1: Lethal Legacy by Linda Fairstein – I just recently reviewed this one. The background info on the New York Public Library is fascinating and what book lover could resist a book about book collectors?

#2: American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld – This was all the rage last year so if you were meaning to get around to picking this one up, here’s your chance.

#3: Hot Mess: Summer in the City by Julie Kraut and Shallon Lester – Surely you know a girl who is going to need some beach reading this summer?

To enter, leave a comment on this entry with your first choice of books. Please be sure that you leave me an email address or your comment links back to your blog. If I can’t email you, you can’t win. For a second entry, blog about this and leave me a link. This contest is open to readers in the US and Canada only (sorry!) and I will draw 3 lucky winners on Monday, April 13th.

It’s never too early to start stocking up for summer vacation reading! Good luck!

Another day, another winner!

I’m thrilled to be passing Crafting Jewish and Kosher by Design Lightens Up onto someone who will really enjoy them. The winner is…

LittleBit

I wanted to pass along a big THANK YOU! to everyone who entered and was so excited about the books. As always, I wish I had enough books for everyone.

I’m going to spend the next month on the road for work, which means that when I get back, I should have a nice stack of books ready to give away. Stop back soon for more reviews and contests!

And the winner is….

MaiaC!

I want to thank everyone who stopped by and joined in the conversation. Unlike some guest posts I’ve had in the past, Emily really made this into a conversation, answering questions and chatting with the posters. When I think about how much effort goes into being that gracious over the course of a 50-day blog tour, I’m floored. Thanks again for being a great guest host.

Emily Bryan’s blog tour continues with another chance to win over at J.K. Choi – Living With Immortals. She’ll be exploring 4 methods for writing a novel, which should make for some great conversation.

I hope that all of your who stopped by for the first time will come back and visit again. I am pretty eclectic in my reading choices, so there is something for everyone. I hope to see you again soon.

And if you’re disappointed about not winning VEXING THE VISCOUNT (and who wouldn’t be), if you scroll down just a little ways, I am giving away a combo: a great cookbook and a terrific craft book.

Coming Soon – Watch for it!

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

Coming up on Thursday, January 29th, I’m going to have a special guest post from Emily Bryan, author of Vexing the Viscount. Now, I warned Emily that I am not a big romance reader, but she’s a great sport and wants to stop by anyway. As a special treat, she’s going to offer a free copy of Vexing the Viscount to some lucky commenter on Thursday. So, whether you’re a big romance fan or just looking for a little something new, be sure to stop by on January 29th for a guest post and your chance to win!

New Giveaway!

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Devourer of Books is having a great giveaway! To celebrate her 100th review, she is giving away grab-bags of books – up to 5 books for the first place winner. Check the rules carefully and throw your hat in the ring. The more entries, the more winners, so tell all your friends! You can enter here.

And now, the WINNERS!

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

First of all, I want to thank everyone who entered. This has been my most successful giveaway ever and it has realy been a lot of fun. I had a grand total of 72 entries – more than enough to give away all 5 books. And I almost pulled off a perfect pick: the first 4 names the Randomizer spat out all asked for different books. So, here are the winners and the books they requested:

  • Callista – Months & Seasons
  • Literate Housewife – The Good Thief
  • Jenn - Abbeville
  • Susan Helen Gottfried – The Whiskey Rebels
  • Bermuda Onion – So Long at the Fair

In the interest of full disclosure: one of the winners originally selected (and posted here briefly) did not leave me an email address or any way to contact her. Since the post specifically asks that you leave a way for me to contact you, I’ve drawn another name. I feel terrible that someone missed out, but I’ve got to have some way to get in contact with the winners.

Thanks again for making this a great contest! I hope to be making the rounds and stopping by everyone’s blog to say hello in the near future.

Some other great giveaways!

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Hard to admit, but my giveaway isn’t the only game in town. Here are a few that I want to win:

  • BermudaOnion is giving away a copy of Brad Meltzer’s Book of Lies, which looks terrific. I wanna win this one myself!
  • Boston Bibliophile is giving away a copy of Matrimony – everyone is talking about this one.
  • She Is Too Fond of Books is giving away a copy of Eat Me, but winning requires getting creative about…pancakes.

Pick Your Prize Giveaway!

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

I have a pile of books that I have been thinking about giving away and I just couldn’t decide which one should go next…so I’m going to let you decide! (I haven’t tried a giveaway like this before, so wish me luck!) Below are the five books you can choose from. Pick a book and leave a comment to enter. To snag an additional chance, link to this contest on your blog, listing all 5 books. If you email five of your friends about the contest and copy me on the email, I’ll give you a bonus entry! Here are the books you can choose from:

BONUS! For every 12 entrants, I’ll give away another one of these books. That means all I need is is 24 entrants to give away 2 books; if I’m fortunate enough to get 60 entrants, I’ll give away all 5! So spread the word and increase your chances to win!

Okay, now the fine print stuff: Entry deadline is Friday, September 26th. One set of entries per person. The contest is open to readers in the US and Canada only. Bonus entries don’t count towards the total number of entrants. In case two entrants ask for the same book, the first name drawn gets first choice. Please be sure your comment includes a way to contact you. Good luck!

****9/22/08: We’ve hit 24 entrants, so that’s 2 books! Come on, folks – I want to clear these shelves!

****9/23/08: We’ve hit 36 entrants! Three books! Do I hear 4???

****9/24/08: 60! Thank you so much for making this my most successful giveaway ever! I cannot wait to pick the winners on Friday!

Just in case you can’t read the titles clearly, they are: Abbeville by Jack Fuller, The Good thief by Hannah Tinti, Months and Seasons by Christopher Meeks, The Whiskey Rebels by David Liss, and So Long at the Fair by Christina Schwarz.

A great new contest!
